DupDup Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the DupDup operator (“we”, “us”) processes information in connection with the DupDup mobile application (the “App”). It applies to features that are actually offered or selected by you in the App.
1. Operator and contact
- Operator: DupDup operator
- Privacy, account, and support contact: balian.wang1997@gmail.com
The published contact is the support email for DupDup. If additional operator information is required by applicable law or the operator changes, we will update this Policy.
2. Information we process
Depending on the features you use, we may process:
2.1 Account and authentication information When you use a sign-in provider shown in the App (for example, Apple, Google, or Kakao), the provider may share identifiers needed for authentication, such as a provider user ID, token, name, or email address. If Apple provides a private relay email address, we use that value to maintain your account.
2.2 Images and text you provide When you use the camera, photo library, or text input for OCR, translation, reading assistance, learning explanations, or knowledge-point generation, we process the images and text needed to return the requested result. If an image or text contains another person’s information, obtain any permission or authorization required before submitting it.
2.3 Device and diagnostic information For security, troubleshooting, and reliability, we may process device model, OS version, App version, network status, crash information, and technical logs associated with requests. Where feasible, we use the minimum information and de-identified or aggregated forms.
2.4 Subscription and transaction status Apple App Store and other app stores process payment and billing information. Through authorized interfaces such as RevenueCat, we may receive the minimum subscription state needed to unlock features, such as product identifier, entitlement status, and expiration time. We do not directly collect full payment credentials such as card numbers.
2.5 On-device data Dictionary assets, learning progress, caches, and similar data may be stored on your device for offline features. Unless we separately tell you otherwise, on-device data is not uploaded by default.
3. Purposes
We process information as needed to:
- create accounts, authenticate users, maintain sessions, and secure accounts;
- provide image and text recognition, translation, reading assistance, and learning results;
- provide learning history, dictionary, review, and subscription entitlements;
- troubleshoot, secure, prevent abuse, and improve reliability;
- comply with law, handle disputes, and respond to user requests.
4. Automated processing and AI features
Image and text analysis, translation, explanations, and learning assistance may be produced using automated systems or AI features. This processing is used to return the result you request; we do not use it to make decisions about your legal rights, eligibility, credit, or similar status. Results are for assistance only, and we do not guarantee that they are accurate or complete.
The external processing service used can vary by feature and operating environment. We do not use submitted content for advertising targeting beyond what is necessary to provide the requested feature. Retention and model-training practices of an external provider are governed by that provider’s current terms and notices; we do not make claims about a provider’s practices that we have not verified.
5. Third-party providers and processing on our behalf
We may use providers needed to operate the service, including:
- App backend, hosting, and storage for account, learning-record, image, text, and result transmission or storage;
- Sign-in providers such as Apple, Google, and Kakao that are shown in the App;
- Subscription management such as RevenueCat and Apple App Store subscription-state synchronization;
- Diagnostics and reliability tools for crash and technical troubleshooting.
Providers are configured or contracted to process information only as needed for these purposes, and their own privacy notices may also apply. Providers and features may change by App version and operating environment.
6. International processing
The App backend, authentication, storage, subscription, or diagnostic services may operate outside your country or region, so information may be processed internationally. We apply the notices, safeguards, and provider-management procedures required by applicable law. If an important change is made to the countries or providers involved, we will update this Policy or provide notice in the App or on the public site.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain account information and learning records for as long as needed to provide the account and service. When you request account deletion in the App, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize account-related information and learning data that are no longer needed to provide the service. Payment and transaction records, security records, or dispute records may be retained for the period required by law. On-device caches and temporary files may be removed through your device settings or by deleting the App.
8. Your rights and how to exercise them
Where applicable law provides, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You can initiate account deletion in the App at Me → Delete account. If the in-app request fails or you have another privacy request, contact balian.wang1997@gmail.com.
Include the request type and an email address that helps us identify the account. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or original private images. We may verify your authority to make the request and will respond or act within the period required by applicable law.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures such as access controls, protection in transit, least-privilege access, log management, and operational review. Internet transmission and third-party services carry inherent risks, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
10. Children and minors
The Service is not directed primarily to children without parental involvement. Minors should use it with a guardian’s consent and supervision. If you believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate consent, contact us at the email above.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy when the App, law, or our data practices change. We will update the effective date and provide prominent notice in the App or on the public site for material changes.
12. Contact
For privacy, account deletion, security, or Policy questions, email balian.wang1997@gmail.com.
